Get ready to savor every delicious bite!

  • 1 pound ground beef (80% lean, 20% fat is recommended for juiciness)
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 slices of American cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato slices, onion slices, pickles, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise

  1. Preheat your grill or stovetop griddle to medium-high heat.

  2. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions, about ¼ pound each. Gently shape each portion into a patty, being careful not to overwork the meat. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up during cooking.

  3. Season both sides of the patties with salt and pepper, or any other preferred seasoning.

  4. Place the patties on the preheated grill or griddle and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. If you prefer your burger cooked differently, adjust the cooking time accordingly. Just before the burgers are done, place a slice of cheese on top of each patty and let it melt.

  5. While the burgers are cooking, lightly toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster.

  6. Remove the burgers from the heat and let them rest for a couple of minutes.

  7. Assemble your cheeseburgers: Place each patty on a toasted bun and add any desired toppings such as lettuce, tomato slices, onion slices, pickles, ketchup, mustard, and/or mayonnaise.

  8. Serve your classic all-American cheeseburgers immediately and enjoy!

Feel free to customize this recipe by adding or changing toppings according to your preferences. Enjoy your delicious homemade cheeseburgers!
